California PUC REP Workshop - The workshop notice is the first formal response by the PUC to the recommendations by the California Energy Commission that the PUC immediately implement a system of differentiated feed-in tariffs for renewable energy projects less than 20 MW. The workshop is to determine whether the PUC should open an existing docket to include expanding the present feed-in tariff for projects up to 1.5 MW that has been largely ineffectual. - San Francisco, CA, February 10, 2009

Global Financing for Climate and the Environment after G8 Summit - A study, New Finance for Climate Change and Environment, commissioned by WWF and the
Heinrich Böll Foundation in the lead-up to the 34th
G-8 Summit, examines the creation of over a dozen new multilateral and
bilateral
funding initiatives intended to address climate and related
environmental issues. Unfortunately, these new funds are being
developed with little
coordination as regards strategic objectives, funding priorities and
implementation mechanisms. This public event will discuss the proposed funds’ priorities, strategies and
governance structures with
an eye to exploring their potential compatibilities and competing
interests. The public will hear the
views of international institutions, national governments and civil
society as they assess the success of the G-8 meeting in Hokkaido in
shaping the
new global architecture for climate and environmental finance. Please RSVP by calling 202 778 9752 or by sending an email to mpo@wwfus.org - July 16, 2-4 PM
